The author

For several years Birgitte Husted Bendtsen has regularly contributed to the magazine Haven (”The Garden”) which is published by Det Danske Haveselskab (”The Danish Garden Society”).

Through her articles, she shares her love of geraniums and phlox with others. Birgitte had long cherished the dream of writing a book on geraniums. Finally her 20 years of experience resulted in the long anticipated Geranium reference work which, besides its many plant related facts, is full of background stories reflecting her warm wit and personality.

In 2007 her second book was published, describing the lovely genus Phlox, entitled "Phlox - bogen om floks til haven" (”Phlox – the book on phlox for the garden). In this book more than 600 phlox are described, and there are more than 750 photos, taken by the author.

Besides being a comprehensive reference book, this book is also a very entertaining garden book.
